What is it?

FutureJobs is a fully-funded service that combines in-school events, work experience placements, enterprise competitions and resource development to help students aged 15+ understand the world of work.

This programme is operated by Aspire-igen and supported by Ahead Partnership.

FutureJobs is part-funded by the European Social Fund.

Resource Development

people-woman-coffee-meetingThe technology and digital industries are among the fastest growing sectors in this region, offering a range of careers. Technology is transforming the global labour market as we know it and your students could benefit.

We've been working with educators and digital industry professionals to create careers and curriculum resources for KS4 and 5 students that give them a deeper insight into this growing sector. The resources include lesson plans, job profiles, an interactive map and video resources from employers such as NHS Digital, Sky and IBM and are available to a limited number of schools/colleges in 2017-18.

Training on the resources is flexible and can be held at your school or college. Resources are also available for the Construction and Advanced Manufacturing sectors too.

If your school/college would like to sign up for these exclusive careers and curriculum resources please contact

Enterprise Competitions

TrinityKitchen-6We'll be delivering employer-designed enterprise challenge competitions, building students' problem-solving and entrepreneurship skills.

Top local employers will help to design real life scenario challenges to help students apply their learning, develop key employability skills and encourage innovation and enterprise.

Employers involved include Plusnet, Premier Farnell and Extra Motorway Services.

Work Experience

We'll be providing meaningful work experience placements with local, national and international employers.

Each placement is planned with the young person involved to help them work toward their individual goals, creating an achievable action plan in the process.

Apprenticeship Ambassador Scheme

As part of the ongoing development of current and recently-completing apprentices, we'll be recruiting 40 Digital Apprenticeship Ambassadors to take part in accredited communication training to help them grow their mentoring talents.

If you're doing a digital or IT apprenticeship you could take part in a free communication training session followed by the opportunity to attend a FutureJobs event and represent your employer. You'll also get to meet other digital apprentices in your area.
