Get free Digital Careers resources for your school or college
FutureJobs, which was funded by Leeds City Region LEP and the European Social Fund, ended on 31 July 2018. The FutureJobs partnership comprised Ahead Partnership, aspire-igen, C&K Careers, NYBEP and CHY.
Through free in-school events, great work experience placements, enterprise competitions and resource development, we worked with schools and colleges across the LEP region and their students to help them understand the world of work.
As part of the programme we worked with a wide variety of the region's Digital employers to produce careers resources that would help young people understand the exciting opportunities available in this fast-growing sector.
Employers such as NHS Digital, IBM and Sky helped us to develop tutorial and assembly resources, including a series of short videos, to help students understand the skills needed for the Digital and Tech sector.
The resources are suitable for Key Stage 3 and 4 assemblies and careers tutorials, as well as Key Stage 4 and 5 Maths and ICT lessons.
Above we have included one of the videos from the series which is an introduction to Leeds City Region’s tech sector from Rashik Parmar MBE, Technical Executive Europe for IBM. This is the first video in the series.
The resources from the FutureJobs project have already been used by 120 schools/colleges in the region – and are now available free of charge to educators.
If you would like to access the full range of resources, including teachers’ notes and lesson plans, please contact Anna Turner on firstname.lastname@example.org or 0300 124 0496 with your school/college details.< Back to all news stories
