Premier Farnell Technology Challenge sees Prince Henry's Grammar School take the title

Today was the Premier Farnell Technology Challenge, which brought together teams from schools and colleges from Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale and Wakefield. Each was tasked with meeting the brief to create a working prototype of a piece of technology that would help someone with a physical or sensory impairment.

Pontefract pupils Light Up Yorkshire with Northern Powergrid

Five pupils from The Rookeries Carleton Junior & Infant School in Pontefract took centre spot at the Wakefield Light Switch on after winning the ‘Northern Powergrid Light up Yorkshire competition’ to design their own Christmas light which featured in the Wakefield 2017 light display.

£5million will be invested in careers and enterprise programmes across the country thanks to the Careers & Enterprise Company. Ahead Partnership will receive over £150,000 to grow their Make the Grade programme in Rotherham, Barnsley, Sheffield, Doncaster as well as Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees, Wakefield and Calderdale.
