Westgate Shopping Centre challenge students to Made in Oxford pop-up shop competition
45 students from St Gregory the Great Catholic School, City of Oxford College and Oxford Academy were set a special challenge by Land Securities and Westgate Shopping Centre earlier this week.
The students took part in various insight workshops and questioned a panel of business professionals from Land Securities so they could learn more about the Westgate Shopping Centre which is set to open this autumn. The workshops covered a range of topics including marketing, project management, product development and finance.
They were also set the brief to design and create their own pop-up shop in the centre, which will see finalists pitch their ideas to a panel of Land Securities experts in March.
Tania Nile, Project Manager at Ahead Partnership, said: "What a fantastic start to the Made in Oxford challenge. It was a real pleasure to see students leave the sessions buzzing with so many innovative ideas. This is going to be a fierce competition!"
