Year 10 students learn about trade and logistics from global employer DP World
Year 10 students in London got the chance to find out more about a local (and global) employer with an interactive workplace visit to DP World and their P&O Heritage Collection.
DP World operate dozens of marine and inland terminals and manage logistics worldwide and the workplace visit gave students from Westminster City School a deeper insight into the career options available in a global business.
The visit, funded by Victoria Business Improvement District, included a look at a series of films about the work DP World do, speakers from a range of departments as well as a visit to the P&O Heritage Collection - an archive of 30,000 artefacts and the history of the contribution P&O has made to countries all over the world over 175 years.
Tania Nile, Project Manager at Ahead Partnership, said: "The visit had a lot of impact for the students and 100% said they felt they understood now why the skills they learn at school will help them in the future. Connecting a hugely successful business like DP World to students at such a formative time in their school careers helps them understand why hard work and an understanding of how businesses like this operate are important for their futures."< Back to all news stories
