Ahead Partnership win top award at Leeds Trinity University Employability Awards 2017

tom employability awards 2017

We're delighted that last week Ahead Partnership was announced Most Rewarding Professional Placement at the Leeds Trinity University Employability Awards 2017.

The awards were presented for the first time by Leeds Trinity University in recognition of businesses and organisations who offer outstanding work experience to benefit their students as well as recognising the students that have worked hard and overcome barriers to achieve success.

Guests at the ceremony last Thursday 13 July heard how we had one of their students, Richard, join us for his work placement at our Head Office throughout June 2017. Richard nominated us for the award at the end of his placement, telling the judges that the experience had been "uplifting" and "a life changing experience."

In his time with us Richard helped us to develop some of our internal systems and processes, as well as creating a new activities to help young people understand more about business strategy, and stocks and shares.

Stephanie Burras CBE, our Chief Executive, said: "It's a pleasure to be recognised with an award like this. Richard's nomination highlighted the commitment and dedication of our team and his real enjoyment of being part of Ahead Partnership. The placement gave him the opportunity to contribute his skills and apply his learning to benefit some of the tens of thousands of young people that we work with every year.

"It has been a transformational experience both for Richard and for ourselves. He was an excellent placement student and I would urge all employers to link with our schools, colleges and universities to create mutually beneficial experiences of this kind for young people in our region."
