Barclays focus on confidence with Year 8 students at Acland Burghley School

Fitzrovia workshops

Business volunteers from Barclays helped Year 8 students develop their self-confidence with an interactive workshop day at Acland Burghley School last month.

The second workshop funded by Fitzrovia Partnership this academic year focused on overcoming challenges and thinking confidently, encouraging students to see challenges as opportunities and to face their fears and develop their communication skills to help them in everyday work situations.

85% of the students involved said the session helped them improve their confidence and self-belief and 81% said it had made them more aware of their own aspirations and skills for the future.

"This really engaged students in the world of work and gave them a taste of the attributes needed and how to work on skills for the future."
