Panellists from a range of industries answer Year 12 students' questions
Careers panel boosts Citizenship Training Day at Leeds West Academy
Panellists from a range of businesses and industries opened Leeds West Academy's Citizenship Training Day last month with a Careers Panel for Year 7 and Year 12 students.
Professionals from creative media, transport, law and finance braved the snow to face questions from students wanting to know more about the world of work and employability skills before making decisions about their GCSE subject options and starting to apply for university, further education, training, employment and apprenticeships at the end of the year.
Volunteers included Ashley Judge from Revenue Protection for Transpennine Express, Ruth Bamford from commercial law firm Walker Morris and Mark Painter from Yorkshire Building Society.
The students started off by asking preprepared questions before being encouraged to ask their own - with an enthusiastic response from students both young and older!
