Students got into character and 'hands on' at the interactive event
Carr Manor Careers Event - Possibly the best way of giving a hint of the working world!
This event has helped 340 Carr Manor students in years 9, 10 & 11 last week, by giving them a better view of their future. In total 24 different businesses from different industry sectors such as childcare, animal care, law, construction, engineering and creative came along to exhibit. Their aim was to teach students about different jobs and careers which are available to them when they leave school.
All of the exhibitors were very complimentary about the students:
“I’ve had some extremely positive conversations with students about creative careers” – Leeds college of art, Gareth Wadkin. Others commented on how ‘polite’, ‘engaged’ and ‘confident’ they were.
A student commented “This gave me a better idea of what I want to do In the future”, this just shows that this event hasn’t just helped one student but many, this opened their eyes to their options in various sectors.
