Cross Gates Primary School take over Ahead Partnership

On Friday 24 November, the National Takeover Challenge hit Ahead Partnership when a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils took over our office for a full day of business activities. An initiative from the Children's Commissioner, the National Takeover Challenge is designed to help give children and young people a proud voice across businesses in their region.

We were joined by six pupils from Cross Gates Primary School who, after performing exceptionally well so far this academic year, were chosen by their teachers to take over our business for the day and help us shape our new office development plans.

Our new mini managers felt very at home in the boardroom with its plush leather seats and fabulous city views! They met with our Chief Executive Stephanie Burras CBE to find out how Ahead Partnership has grown since it started and learn more about how the business works, created a ‘Meet the Team’ noticeboard for our Head Office and presented suggestions to our design team for our new ‘Fun Zone’ office space.

A quick trip in the 'Great Glass Elevator' to the Barclays office was also a highlight of the day and students were able to learn about the various roles available within different types of businesses.

Our guests were then able to practice their pitching skills by presenting the items they had created to our design team. This included personalised illustrations of the Ahead Partnership team, new desk plans and ‘Fun Zone’ ideas consisting of game consoles, chill out zones, massages and a tuck shop!

We were absolutely thrilled to have the students with us for the day; they all conducted themselves very professionally, worked hard and produced lots of creative ideas for our new office.
