Selfridges Challenge leaves children 'in awe'

Fantastic feedback received from Ark Rose Primary School in Birmingham following the Selfridges 'Fashioning a Sustainable Future' challenge:

"Both our Year 5 and staff would like to thank you for providing our children with such a wonderful opportunity that allowed them to create, think and come up with their own ideas regarding sustainability.

Through this experience the children learnt about sustainability and became aware of how they could help the environment by recycling and re-using materials, and reducing waste. They so enjoyed the creative part of making the globes and showed great excitement when they attended the wonderful event at Selfridges.

It was their first time visiting the store and it motivated them immensely. It was such a delight watching their faces when they saw the generous breakfast, not to mention their look of anticipation and excitement listening to who had won the competition. They were so thrilled to have received a goody bag with a voucher, that they could not wait to use it and experience having an ice cream in the store.

It was truly a memorable competition and visit and we look forward to any other event that may come up in the future. These opportunities make such a difference to our children and inspires them in so many different ways. In fact , one of our children was in such awe of everything, she vowed that Selfridges was the kind of store she would like to become a Manager of!"
