FOCUS: Inspire young people from under-represented cohorts (females and minority ethnic groups) to consider STEM subjects and raise awareness of the finance sector as a potential career option.

72 students from five Birmingham schools met and worked with 32 Deutsche Bank colleagues throughout the course of the day at their Birmingham offices, enabling them to ask key questions and gain an insight into colleagues’ day to day roles and career paths.

This event took place during Birmingham Professional Services week, a week of secondary school activities across Birmingham to raise awareness of and enthusiasm for careers in the professional, financial and business services (BPS) sector.

Colleagues ran workshops and conducted tours of the building for the student groups and led discussions around the variety of roles available within the finance sector, as well as the skills and qualifications required to work in the industry.

In addition to a tour of the Technology Command Centre, Trading Floor and Legal, Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime departments, the students participated in interactive workshops on self-direction and goal setting, workplace skills, cybercrime and trading.
