Interview Practice at Wakefield College
Students from across Wakefield College took part in our biggest ever interview practice - a huge hit with students and volunteers alike!
FOCUS: Give college students from a range of courses and subject areas their first experience of interview practice with volunteers from local businesses.
750 students from Wakefield College got an opportunity to hone their interview skills with help from over 50 local business volunteers at the college’s city and Castleford campuses, making this Ahead Partnership's biggest interview practice yet.
Students from a range of courses were given the opportunity to practice their skills in an interview with a volunteer before receiving feedback on their technique and answers to help them make progress for the real thing.
Volunteers came from a diverse range of local employers including Eversheds Sutherland, Castleford Tigers, Halifax bank, MCP Environmental, NG Bailey, Turner & Townsend, Pertemps and Wakefield Council as well as a host of local entrepreneurs, small business owners and HE providers.
“We’re delighted to be working with Ahead Partnership on helping our students develop their interview skills and techniques. I’m also pleased to see so many renowned employers coming together to help prepare learners for the world of work. Such partnership work hugely benefits young people helping them prepare for the transition from education to employment.”
