Opportunities for employers and schools at Birmingham Professional Services Week
We have activity taking place in June as part of Professional Services Week, a week of activities across Birmingham for secondary schools to raise awareness of and enthusiasm for careers in the professional, financial and business services (BPS) sector delivered in partnership with BPS Birmingham, Birmingham Education Partnership and Greater Birmingham Professional Services Academy.
We're working with top professional services employers in the region such as PwC, Deutsche Bank, RBS and Gateley plc to help demystify and demonstrate the world of professional services as well as helping students discover the opportunities open to them in their region.
Through a series of engaging and enriching activities throughout the week, students can understand more about this fast-growing sector (the second largest in the region) and open their own network through hands-on experiences with employers.
This year's Birmingham Professional Services Week will be taking place 25 - 29 June 2018.
Opportunities for Professional Services businesses to get involved
As part of our activities we have two careers panels on 25 and 26 June. Careers panels are the perfect way for students to learn from business people as our interactive quiz format encourages students to ask business volunteers their own questions about career journeys, qualifications, key skills needed for employment and the different roles available in a business.
We're looking for volunteers from Professional Services employers to take part in the panels on either date. Minimal preparation is required and Ahead Partnership will be chairing the panel at the school. You just need to be prepared to answer students' questions!
If you're interested in taking part, please email email@example.com - limited places are available.
Opportunities for secondary schools/colleges to get involved
As part of our activities we have a number of activities available to secondary schools and colleges in Birmingham at no charge. This year's activities include:
- Workplace visits to Professional Services employers in Birmingham city centre
- Careers Panels for Post-16 groups
- Managing your Money workshops
- Insight Days for groups of up to 15 students
The number of activities are limited so early application is advised. Secondary school/college places are agreed on a first come, first served basis.
Each activity is fully managed and delivered by Ahead Partnership including all the resources you need for taking students off-site. We manage all business recruitment and volunteers, making it easy for your school/college to take part.
If you're interested in one or more of these activities for your school/college, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
