Our Chief Executive wins White Rose Community Award
We were thrilled to discover earlier this month that our Chief Executive and founder, Stephanie Burras CBE, is the recipient of a White Rose Community Award.
The awards, now in their fifth year, are presented by White Rose Shopping Centre in recognition of those people who do outstanding work to benefit the community, or who have shown courage in adverse circumstances.
Guests at the ceremony last Thursday 20 October heard how Stephanie founded Leeds Ahead in 2004 as a social enterprise focusing on how businesses of all sizes could make a greater impact in the wider community.
In 2010 the business became Ahead Partnership and our award-winning Make the Grade education programme has improved careers education and raised the aspirations of over 55,000 young people in Leeds and beyond.
Stephanie said: "It's always a pleasure to be recognised for an award like this. I felt honoured to be collecting an award alongside lots of worthy local individuals and community groups and charities.
"This award is recognition of everything Ahead Partnership has achieved so far - and we're looking forward to expanding that in the years to come."
