**CHALLENGE OPEN FOR ENTRIES NOW**
West Yorkshire Bus Alliance and Ahead Partnership are working together to invite young people from across West Yorkshire to submit their own campaign to promote bus travel to the next generation.
Following two successful years of the Bus To The Future challenge in schools and colleges across West Yorkshire, this year we're opening entries up to all young people aged 11 - 18 years old living anywhere in West Yorkshire.
The West Yorkshire Bus Alliance is committed to promoting greener forms of travel in a post-Covid world and the operators involved - including Arriva, First, Transdev - have introduced important changes to their vehicles and made it easier than ever for people to travel in the region by bus.
So that public transport can help meet important environmental targets and tackle the Climate Change Emergencies declared within the region, we're challenging young people to help us get the message out to their friends and family by encouraging them to get the bus with their own ideas for a marketing campaign.
As well as the chance to win fantastic prizes and compete against other young people: this challenge is an opportunity for you develop skills and experience for the world of work. This challenge will give you a glimpse into careers in areas such as transport, marketing and creative industries, customer service and environmental sciences. It will also help you develop and demonstrate skills such as teamwork, creativity, communication and resilience.
THE BRIEF
We want you to create a piece of media that persuades people to choose to use the bus for their journeys. You might use film, animation, or even make use of TikTok’s editing tools to create a video. Perhaps you will record a music performance in your favourite style, produce a poster or plan a social media campaign, or maybe you will dream up something else entirely!
You can work alone, in pairs or as part of a team and to take part you need to be aged 11 to 18. We are accepting entries until 31 March 2022.
