Business volunteers engage with Year 11 students at Westminster City School

Westminster City School shows students the possibilities

300 students from Westminster City School got the opportunity to meet employers from across the city of London this week with an interactive careers fair.

The marketplace style event saw students from Year 8 and Year 11 ask business volunteers their own questions about their roles and career paths as well as taking part in a quiz about the employers on show.

Businesses showcased were from retail, digital, legal, construction, finance and engineering industries to name a few and these year groups were chosen to help the students navigate a crucial milestone in their school careers - choosing GCSE subjects and Post-16 options.

Business volunteers came from John Lewis Partnership, Plexus Law, WYG, Natwest and NG Bailey, and 96% of the students that took part said the careers fair gave them a clearer understanding of the sorts of jobs they could do in the future.
