Next generation of innovators inspired by Nexus schools initiative

Students from across Leeds have celebrated their success in the culmination of an innovative and entrepreneurial programme from regional innovators at Nexus with Ahead Partnership. Last week saw students from Dixons Unity Academy crowned the winners of Solution for Leeds, a pioneering challenge designed to stimulate young people’s creativity and enhance employability skills through a sustainable, community-focused business brief.

The project began in November 2020 and brings together a network of key health, care and education partners across the district to be able to provide secondary and post-16 school pupils with the opportunity to consider the diverse range of careers available within the Kirklees Health and Care System.

West Yorkshire Bus Alliance have been working with Ahead Partnership over the last two years to deliver an education engagement programme that will engage young people with the public transport sector and promote greener travel. Birmingham-based Intercity Technology has extended its partnership with Ahead Partnership in a continued effort to support young people’s career development.
