Leeds inner-city primary schools learn more about the world of work

Primary school children from inner-city areas across Leeds have been inspired by the future career opportunities available to them by engaging with legal firms from across the city through a series of exciting World of Work Days that took place in June and July. Delivered by Ahead Partnership, the Leeds Law Society’s President’s chosen community partner for 2021-22, the Leeds Law Society Education Programme enabled businesses to reach-out to the next generation of talent, engaging young people with different skills and perspectives within the sector and in turn supporting a more equal and inclusive society.

Ahead Partnership land in Portugal for European research project

Earlier this month Lola and Faron from the Ahead Partnership team flew to Lisbon to take part in a project partner meeting hosted by PIN - partners in neuroscience for the DesignMyFuture project. The aim of the project is to reduce early school leaving, promote positive decision making and prevent young people from entering the job market with insufficient skills.

Initiative sees students experience health and care skills for the future

75 students from secondary schools in Calderdale and Kirklees have taken part in an exciting skills initiative designed to promote the career opportunities on offer in the health and care sector. Funded by Health Education England, and delivered by Ahead Partnership, the ‘Let’s Talk Health and Care Experience Day’ was designed to help young people understand the different roles and career opportunities on offer and help to fill future skills gaps.

Millennium Point and Ahead Partnership bring West Midlands employers together to inspire over 150 young women with careers in tech

Last week saw digital employers including Goldman Sachs, Avanti West Coast, Pinsent Masons and Intercity Technology meet with 165 young women from schools across the West Midlands, at an event designed to raise awareness of careers in digital and technology, and in turn help improve diversity and encourage social mobility in the sector.

Team Welfare from Mayfield School have been proudly announced as the winners of the 2022 ‘Made in Portsmouth’ sustainability focused enterprise challenge. On 2nd March, 30 students from Admiral Lord Nelson School and Mayfield School were set the 2022 ‘Made in Portsmouth challenge’ by Ahead Partnership, Landsec and Gunwharf Quays: to create their own designs, pitches, and social media campaigns launches for a re-usable water bottle that reflects the Portsmouth community.
